Classic 2D Game Creation at it's best. Open Zelda offers a fully customizable environment, where Gamer can create their own legends in the style of Zelda: The Link to the Past, while more advance users can take advantage of Open Zelda's true power and create what their heart desires.
Open Zelda is a 2D game engine, favoring the Zelda 3-style, which features an editor enabling users to create their own Quests. Open Zelda also has an entity scripting system, which allows users to add anything they want to the game just from a simple text file.
Open Zelda is intended to create quests based on SNES' "Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past", but many other quests can be created, varying the game play. It is also possible to have quests in many different views, including 3d pseudo-isometric views (as in Mario RPG), bird-eye views (as in the Legend of Zelda series), and classic side scrolling views (as in Sonic and Metroid). With the right resources and techniques, the quest possiblities are endless.
